Item of the day: Postcards from Literary Emporium

Literary Emporium is a little online heaven for bookworms such as yours truly. I'm a sucker for a fun postcard (my inspo wall is adorned with them) and there's a great new range available, featuring quotes from Virginia Woolf, Charlotte Bronte, Shakespeare and Oscar Wilde. I think the Virginia Woolf one is my fave but… Continue reading Item of the day: Postcards from Literary Emporium

Wish list: chicklitdesigns from Etsy

I recently came across an awesome subscription service on Instagram called Once Upon a Bookcase where subscribers get a new phone case every month inspired by a top title. I instantly fell in love with this Peter Pan case but wanted to buy it on its own. A quick Etsy search threw up chicklitdesigns, who… Continue reading Wish list: chicklitdesigns from Etsy

Wish list: Babylit board books

Again, this is something I first came across on the joy that is Instagram and I fell hopelessly in love at first sight. It looks like a great way to introduce your child to classic literature - plus they're board books, so Jenson can't tear the pages and can chomp to his heart's content. Thing… Continue reading Wish list: Babylit board books

Item of the day: Novella journal from Anthropologie

Anthropologie have combined two of my favourite things with their novella journals - books and stationery! I think the Midsummer Night's Dream one is my fave but they also do Jane Eyre, The Secret Garden and Great Expectations. They're £14.00 each.

Item of the day: Quotes skirt by BOB

I love Dawn O'Porter's Jane skirts. My faves are the quotes skirt, which includes quotes from Jane Eyre, and the Paper Planes skirt, based on Flo and Renee's first outing. It's a shame about the £180 price tags.

World Book Day: Women in Literature

In honour of World Book Day, and looking ahead to International Women's Day on Saturday, I thought I'd share some of my favourite women in literature with you. Enid Blyton This woman is the reason I became a book worm at such a young age. At the age of seven, I was reading well above… Continue reading World Book Day: Women in Literature

Fictional female role models

I got to thinking the other day about the TV shows that I watch and I realised that they feature some pretty bad-ass, strong women in leading roles. The Mentalist, Fringe, The Big Bang Theory and Chuck all feature great female characters. And those that are no longer in production, such as Buffy the Vampire… Continue reading Fictional female role models

a few of my favourite books

A few of my favourite things: Books

I'm a book geek. To be honest, I'm a geek in general, but I love my literature. I especially love pretty covers (my Pinterest is full of them) - to the point where I'll buy several copies of the same book just to have the gorgeous collections. But as they say, you shouldn't judge a book… Continue reading A few of my favourite things: Books
